SSE Youth Hub

At the General Assembly of the GSEF2023 in Dakar, the creation of the SSE Youth Hub was voted to recognise
young people as key players in changing the scale of the SSE.

It has three main areas of activity:

  • Sensitization : promoting the values of the SSE among young people;
  • Plea : enhancing the role of young people as actors in just transitions;
  • Support : supporting young people's projects via platforms, incubators and cooperatives.

The SSE Youth Hub is based on a decentralised approach with five complementary continental dynamics, driven by continental co-pilots and regular meetings.

Africa :
ABEWE (Ivory Coast)

North America :
Aile Jeunesse du Chantier de l’Economie Sociale (Quebec)

Latin America and the Caribbean :
INAES - National Institute for the Social Economy (Mexico)

Asia :
Seoul Youth Hub (South Korea)

Europe :
Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine (France)

Towards a youth advocacy

The momentum is well underway, with the aim of mobilising people, to promote and make heard the voices of young people committed to fair social, economic and ecological transitions.

Within this framework, a youth campaign is being deployed to collect the visions and recommendations of young people in order to build a plea by continent.

In Europe, an initial webinar was held on 14 April to launch the campaign; contributions and videos must be sent in by 30 June 2025 to n.pouye@mairie-bordeaux.fr.

In Asia and Latin America, webinars are also scheduled.

The other continents have already built their advocacy and are preparing to represent their countries at the Forum.

During the Forum, a workshop will be organised to bring together these continental pleas in the form of an " International Youth Declaration for the SSE ", presented at the event's closing ceremony, in front of all the representatives.

Young people at the forum

Delegations of young ambassadors are expected to attend the Forum and will be supported by a number of partners.

Located in the heart of the Bacalan district of Bordeaux, on the former site of the Beghin Say sugar refineries, the Achard business park has become the Cité bleue Cité Bleue.

In 2022, the owners have given the site a new lease of life. This hybrid, committed site will host the Young SSE Headquarters during the Forum.

Une programmation complémentaire du Palais 2 l’Atlantique est construite avec Chapitô (Bègles) autour de 10 themes of freely accessible activities.

Young people will also be present at the various Forum sites, with participatory workshops at Hangar 14 for the general public.

An international mixed football tournament will be organised to build bridges between young people from near and far.
