Youth & SSE
Since its creation in 2013, the GSEF has always recognised the importance of involving young people in the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE).
Through international events, committed advocacy and structured continental dynamics, the GSEF highlights the central role of young people in social, economic and environmental transitions.

SSE Youth Hub
At the General Assembly of the GSEF2023 in Dakar, the creation of the SSE Youth Hub was voted to recognize
young people as key players in changing the scale of the SSE.
It has three main areas of activity:
- Sensitization : promoting the values of the SSE among young people;
- Advocacy : enhancing the role of young people as actors in just transitions;
- Support : supporting young people's projects via platforms, incubators and cooperatives.
The SSE Youth Hub is based on a decentralized approach with five complementary continental dynamics, driven by continental co-pilots and regular meetings.

Africa :
ABEWE (Ivory Coast)

North America :
Aile Jeunesse du Chantier de l’Economie Sociale (Quebec)

Latin America and the Caribbean :
INAES - National Institute for the Social Economy (Mexico)

Asia :
Seoul Youth Hub (South Korea)

Europe :
Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine (France)
Towards a youth advocacy
The momentum is well underway, with the aim of mobilising people, to promote and make heard the voices of young people committed to fair social, economic and ecological transitions.
Within this framework, a youth campaign a été déployée afin de collecter les visions et les recommandations des jeunes pour construire un plaidoyer par continent.
During the Forum, a workshop will be organized to bring together these continental pleas in the form of an « Déclaration internationale de la jeunesse pour l’ESS » presented at the event's closing ceremony, in front of all the representatives.
Don't forget to subscribe to the GSEF's Instagram account so you don't miss a thing.
Young people at the forum
Located in the heart of Bordeaux's Bacalan district, the hybrid venue of the Cité Bleue will host the Young SSE Hub during the eve and the 3 days of the Forum.
Forum participants and the general public – young and old alike – will be able to discover this complementary programme at Palais 2 l'Atlantique, with interactive workshops on a wide variety of topics, exhibitions, cultural events and social areas.
An open-air cinema screening is offered on Tuesday evening with the Cannes award-winning film: L’histoire de Souleymane by Boris Lojkine.
An international mixed football tournament is also being organized on Wednesday 29 October at Batany Stadium to build bridges between young people from here and elsewhere.
A grand evening event on the final night of the Forum will bring the 4 days to a close.
